Complaint Type: General Dispute
Plaintiff: Luke Davis
Self Rep: yes
Respondent: LSPD, Officers D1-68 Haribo and C2-77 Garcia.
Claim:
I was doing some crime, and once the officers got me and took me to the hospital, I woke up and one officer started to push another, then hit me. After I said, “Why did you hit me, what did I do?” they proceeded to stomp on me when I was on the ground, and they said, “You want some more?” After this, they also said they would shoot me in the head if I told a lawyer about any of this. Once we got to the station, they continued to hit me and beat me with the baton. When I tried to run for more police, if any were in the station, they hit me again, then tazed me in the neck. Once I got back to my cell, they beat me some more and shoved my face in the toilet. When talking to my lawyers, they said that the hospital cameras were down due to power outage, but I saw no outage when inside, and hospitals usually have a few backup generators. They also refused to tell me their badge name and number and just mumbled it under their breath so I couldn’t hear. I had to get the lawyer to let me know who they were. The 2 officers were D1-68 Haribo, who was standing back and watching the whole thing and said he would shoot me in the head, and C2-77 Garcia, who was the main person beating me.
Demand: $50,000 for medical expenses and emotional trauma.
Witnesses:
Police never directly turned of their body cam the whole time and Hospital and Police Department cameras.
