[2025-CM-237947-GD] Blake Beamer v. LSPD
Posted: Sat Aug 02, 2025 3:12 pm
Complaint Type: General Dispute
Plaintiff: Blake Beamer
Self Rep: yes
Respondent: LSPD
Claim:
While I was in a store someone robbed it. Police showed up and entered into a gunfight with the robber. I was shot in the fracas and believe the shot was fired by LSPD officers. After being treated I was searched under the auspices of making sure the robber did not plant anything on me. I have a swithcblade I found while recycling and that was taken from me with the officer claiming it was illegal.
Demand:
$20,000 in compensation for lost time and wages as I was unable to clock into my job during my detention and subsequent recovery
Return of my switchblade
Witnesses:
Officer Quinn Kirkland (she was parked on a nearby curb after driving off the road in an unrelated incident)
Officer Agatha Vale (cop who shot me)
Dallas Bryant (other shopper who was looking for University of Alabama Truck Nuts)
Evidence: Video from store CCTV cameras (link to YouTube would be here if it existed but doesn't since this is a test case)
